We are who we are

Because HE is…

That’s what He said to tell this guy

Sitting there on the sandy shore as I prayed about him

He had eyes as blue as the sky

Funny thing is from behind

I thought he was a she

His hair was in a pony

He was nice to me

So I gave him a card

And his message

And I realized as I left him that it was also for ME

And now I can see that I haven’t ever really

Learned how to be

Anybody but somebody

That some other person wanted me to be

It made me sad actually

But also really happy

Because now I am learning

Who my Father, Yahweh, created me to be

And that is quite a blessing, indeed…
