Galatians 5:14-15 NKJV
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
This is what JESUS
Told us to do…
But most of us
Never learned HOW to…
Instead
Those are the people
We are MEAN to…
Even if we don’t “mean” to…
Our neighbors I mean…
We want what they have…
We wish we could do
All the things
That they seem
To be able to do…
So much “better” than
We are able to…
Which probably
Isn’t even TRUE…
And if we knew
About everything
That they DON’T do
We wouldn’t feel that way
ANYWAY…
Because most of us
Are pretty much the same
Some of us
Are just better at
Looking that way
Because we care WAY too much
About what other people think…
Oh, but we LOVE to love the people
We don’t have to see everyday…
They never make us look bad
Or get in our way…
We read their posts
Religiously
On social media…
Watch all our favorite shows
Every week on TV…
We subscribe monthly
And watch every live stream
Faithfully…
Pay our cable and internet
On time every month
For fear of being
“Disconnected”…
Alone at home
With a house full of kids
Starving for the attention
And affection…
Longing for significance…
As we sit there watching
Strangers on the internet…
Wishing
We could be like them
Which is really just the outside
Of the shell that they live in
Because THEY also know
That nobody REALLY loves them
When all is said and done…
No wonder
Modern society
Is crumbling
Nobody
Really
Knows
or LOVES
Anybody…
